Sometimes, What's The Difference? Redux

Viridis Vir One of my all-time life-changing shows was Track Star at an early Noise Pop lineup (in a long gone Valencia Street venue.) Track Star is one of the best SF bands ever bar none.

I had the green-covered original vinyl and must’ve foolishly loaned it out… spent decades literally *pining* to hear this album again. When this showed up on BC there was extended teary-eyed, joyful listen after purchase.

brantly I grew up in the Bay Area and saw TS many times grace the stage. As they progressed they got more pop-ish, but this early stuff was cathartic, walls of loud / quiet dynamic, tongue-in-cheek self-deprecating lyrics, lo-fi pop squalls of beautifully pummeling guitar driven classic mid-90's indie. It wasn't emo, nor was it Pavement, but somewhere in-between all that with a brash sense of I-don't-give-a-fuck-but-I-secretly-do. Excellent repress. This is sick. Buy or die kiddies.

Cora Berube The debut mini-album turned into a smorgasbord of amazing lo-fi indie rock, with the bands stellar songwriting and lyricism at the forefront. Favorite track: The Overextension Of An Idiot.

101mas101 Track Star is still to this day one of my favorite bands of all time. This gem collects many EP's and singles I've hunted down from all over and adds in ones on my Discogs list that I haven't been able to get my hands on yet. It's a true homage of love. Thank you Silver Girl Records for making this a reality.

about

Collected over several years, the recordings that comprise 'Sometimes, What's the Difference? Redux" were culled from cassette masters of mostly 4-track recordings between 1994-2003. Remastered in 2021, we hope the songs, as presented here, are the best they have sounded (in years).
